Rhys Dean Hoskins (born March 17, 1993) is an American professional baseball first baseman and left fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball for the Sacramento State Hornets. Hoskins was drafted by the Phillies in the fifth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft. He made his MLB debut in 2017. Rhys Lightning is one of his many nicknames. It comes from the song Grease Lightning which is a song from the musical Grease. Hoskins made his MLB debut August 10, 2017, for the Philadelphia Phillies.
