Jorge Mario Alfaro Buelvas (born June 11, 1993) is a Colombian professional baseball catcher for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). Alfaro signed with the Texas Rangers as a free agent in 2010, and was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2015. He made his MLB debut in 2016. Alfaro signed with the Texas Rangers in June 2010 as a 16-year-old free agent for a $1.3 million signing bonus that was a record at the time for any Colombian prospect. Alfaro made his MLB debut September 12, 2016, for the Philadelphia Phillies.
