John Joseph Louis Johnson III (born January 13, 1987) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman who is currently playing for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played for the Los Angeles Kings, Columbus Blue Jackets, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers and Colorado Avalanche. In his prime, he was known as a capable two-way defenseman, combining physical prowess and offensive capabilities in his style of play. Johnson won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2022.
